![]() I don't need a ton of plugins at the same time, as a hobby pianist I only like to play my Ravenscroft 275 sample live without cracks and xruns. My question is: has any of you experience with UVI within Linux (I found no topic here)? Or are there any hidden tweaks in wine, LinVst which solve this? Or at least to improve the performance significantly?īTW, there was no need to install or replace anything in wine, it just ran out of the box. Also there is a graphics glitch with the GUI and the mouse. You can really max it with the sustain pedal. Kontakt) via LinVST work much better, but using the free sound "cinema 1.4" (from the Falcon Preset Tour) in the UVI plugin kills the CPU after a couple of keys (xruns, sound cracks / stuck/ 100% DSP load, high CPU load for LinVst server). It can be tested / reproduced even on a live ubuntu studio usb stick. Thanks to many information in the forum I could Install all the things, however I have huge performance Issues when using UVI workstation 3.0.11 via current LinVST 2.8. I’ll try between all three of these to see if I can better articulate my thoughts here.Ĭertainly this isn’t a setup anyone would consider hi-end, but that’s never been an option for me.I tested the current ubuntu studio 19.10 with different windows plugins (I want to change, because on windows I get minor cracks/xruns even though the CPU load using UVI is very low) I have a set of HD 598s and Slate’s VSX that also get regularly used. But, this is not the exact room nor setup I used way back when I was regularly using the EW Pianos collection. Oh, and to answer your questions regarding speakers I’m using a Sonarworks-corrected pair of Adam A3X’s with a Klipsch SW-12 sub I picked up at a thrift store. I’ve certainly used Keyscape plenty, and would not want to part with it, but it’s not a library that gives me the impression of sitting at a real instrument. Keyscape’s releases are actually just too short and subdued imo! Still, the pianos have very beautiful tone, for the most part. ![]() The Steinway was my go-to for many a project, before I found the Ravenscroft 275. Click to expand. Not a jerk at all! I’ll have to crack open the Bösendorfer later today and play around with it. ![]()
